FREE Member Workshop: What Drives the Value of Your Delta Business

June 24, 2026 (9:00 AM - 10:30 AM) (PDT)

Description

A practical guide to value drivers, buyer expectations, and market reality for small and mid-sized business owners
Join us at the Delta Chamber Boardroom for a practical workshop designed to help small and mid-sized business owners understand what drives the value of a privately held business.

Many owners have a rough idea of what their business may be worth, but buyers, lenders, and the market often look at value differently. This session will break down the key factors that influence value, including earnings quality, owner dependence, customer concentration, recurring revenue, management depth, growth potential, financial readiness, and overall saleability.

The goal is not to provide individual business valuations during the session. Instead, attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of the factors that affect value and practical steps they can take to strengthen their business over time.

What you’ll learn:
✅ How private businesses are commonly valued in plain English
✅ Why revenue and profit alone rarely tell the valuation story
✅ The difference between profit, normalized earnings, and transferable value
✅ Why two businesses with similar earnings can be worth very different amounts
✅ What buyers look for when assessing risk, growth, and saleability
✅ How owner dependence, customer concentration, and financial quality can affect value
✅ Practical steps owners can take to improve value and future options

Who should attend
This workshop is ideal for Delta business owners, founders, and entrepreneurs who want to better understand their business's value, whether they are actively planning for a future sale, considering succession, exploring growth options, or simply want a clearer view of what makes a business more valuable.

The session is especially relevant for privately held businesses across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, construction, trades, logistics, distribution, agriculture, retail, hospitality, professional services, technical services, and other established local businesses.

What you’ll take away
✅ A practical business value driver checklist owners can use to quickly assess strengths, risks, and improvement opportunities in their business
✅ Clear next steps owners can apply in their business
✅ Time for Q&A and discussion with other Delta Chamber business owners
