Clayton Botkin is the new GM of the BC Potato and Vegetable Growers Association (BCPVGA).


Botkin succeeds Jennifer Winning as head of the industry org, and effective immediately will lead its operations, oversee its applied research portfolio and work to advance the interests of BC potato and field vegetable growers through his leadership and through effective government relations. The addition of the storage crop sector – which covers potatoes – were more recently added to the association’s remit.

Botkin is a professional agrologist with the BC Institute of Agrologists who has also worked in various aspects of programming for the BC Ministry of Agriculture and AAFC, including nine years as the province’s poultry industry specialist.


He holds academic credentials in applied biology, risk management and more. He is also one of Canada’s few licensed poultry judges by the American Poultry Association.
